Small trailer or van camper

Sportsmobile did our van according to our specs. Couldn't have asked for more. Better than great!!! We have a sofa that very easily opens to a double, very comfortable, bed with little or no effort. Microwave, porta-potty and the penthouse top. Simply the best! Love it! Check them out.

Off site storage does concern me. Your insights into the ease of driving (and parking) are concerns for any trailer purchase we might consider. The B camper is a pull in or back in, get up and walk to the back set-up. I need a full time bed with inner spring mattress (shoulder, hip and knee need replaced in the next few years).

We are B campers. Consider ourselves campers rather than RVers. Age is taking it's toll and we now are considering a B+/C. Although it doesn't come with a full time made up bed, the Phoenix Cruiser 2100 is the best thing we feel we can move up to. Shortest B+/C with a walk around bed (when made up). Many things to consider. We dearly love our B and many of the conveniences, mobility, lack of off site storage and ease of driving, but it might just be time to move on.
B campers are special people!!!

One other option would be the brands named above but in their 5th wheel, gives one heck of a lot more room and no longer overall. A made up bed is what your used to in the slide-in. Friends have the Scamp version and pull with a mid sized Toyota with the V6 and have not heard a complaint, so you rig would do great. Just another option.

This will keep us busy. Our truck camper support leg was "hooked" by a deer in late May. All aluminum frame is light but finding people locally who weld it has been a trick. Two legs were torn loose from the camper and the one rv dealer who can repair it won't start until October. Molded TTs don't create similar problems when needing repairs do they?

Same thing here. Scamp and Casita are well made RVs and hold value well. Another is Escape. I'd gravitate toward the largest in their lineups.. like the 17' Casita or 19 Escape. The longer you stay put in one place, the more sense the trailers make..as you can run around in the tow vehicle.

For me running around alone the class C is the answer. But if I was stopping for extended times visiting family etc. I'd prefer a trailer.

I agree with TT over B. You already have a good (I assume it's good!) tow vehicle that you know well. With a used B, you have a whole 'nother drive train to maintain, and you don't know how it was cared for beforehand. Plus I think the TT will feel a little more spacious than the B, and you still can throw stuff in the back of the pickup (tons of space!).

Casita or Scamp will get you a couple more mpg's than the RPod, and the molded fiberglass trailers hold their resale value much better. If you're buying new, also take a look at Parkliner (built in NC) and Li'l Snoozy (of SC). All of the molded-body trailers are sold factory direct (but internal components are common, with their own warranties, and are easily serviceable anywhere).

You have a good truck, set up and ready to tow. If I were you, I would choose the small TT. Your initial cost would be lower than that of buying even a used Roadtrek. TT's are fairly easy to climb in and out of. You can park a TT and explore in the truck. TT's have a more spacious feeling inside than Roadtreks, including probably more headroom which is a big factor if you are tall.

we down sized couple times ,we now have a LTV freedom serenity 11 on a sprinter chassis great for two people ,we stay in arizona a lot for months at a time , and the I 5 cyc diesel gets 20mpg and can go to the mall any time.
