I never had any trouble hitching up by myself with either my TT or 5th. Never needed a rear view camera nor the poles often used with TT's. I use my trucks rear view mirror and line up center of tailgate with center of trailer. Get within few feet then get out and check. Just a couple tries and I'm lined up.
What is very difficult is backing into a spot without a helper. Especially if there are things to hit if you're off just a bit. A camera may help but I've never seen a camera that can show everything you need to see on one screen. I'm lazy and just find pull thru's when solo!
