I'd trust a CG more because there would be more people as witnesses, as opposed to a storage lot where if thieves get in, they can have a field day. Cameras tend to either get a black blob with a grey blob connected to a blob that looks like a hand, or gets a good picture of someone with a hoodie or balaclava on.
I store my rig miles away from any type of paved road which gives me security, but if I were storing it in a more populated area, I'd either disconnect the LCD TVs and put them on a bath towel in a cabinet (so if the thieves grab them, at least they are gone, and no wall brackets are trashed), and leave the outer compartments unlocked with a note saying that. Same reason when I'm in LA, I leave my car doors unlocked when I'm gone.
