Stuff sliding around on shelves

Yup, I blew a tire on my brand new TT on the way home from the dealership after everything was fully inspected, including tire pressures.

I put tacks in to hold the liner in place. In front of each door before we travel I stick a piece of swimming pool noodle at the front. Works well to hold things in the refrigerator also-without the tacks of course.
I read the idea here and have been very pleased with how well it works. Much better than the tension rods made to do the same thing.

X2- ours fit nearly perfectly. I think ours came from Walmart. Even the stuff in the cabinets across the back at the ceiling doesn't move.

I found some neat cloth sided containers at the 99 cent store that I store smaller items in to avoid the sliding around. You can pull the containers out and locate things easier as well. Necessity is the mother of invention (or so I hear!)

You don't have the stuff on your shelves packed tight enough. (Who knew that someone could ever have that issue?)

I use bubble wrap ... or a lot of plastic bags... and before I roll the wheels, stuff that into the area, close the door and roll the wheels... If you have a lot of room... put a big roll of paper towels in there too.

We do the same thing as above....for food we use Rubbermaid containers and dollar store plastic baskets. The advantage to the Rubbermaid containers is that they have lids we can put on to keep the mice away from foodstuffs. Thankfully haven't had too many of those but I'd rather not tempt them.....

We use nicer woven baskets to contain other items in the living room storage areas.

I measured inside of my cabinets and purchased baskets that would fit side by side, but shallow enough to reach into to put stuff in and out without removing the baskets. No more sliding around !

Dollar store plastic baskets.

We use Rubbermaid style containers, or small baskets that fit inside the cabinets. We measured the cabinet sizes and then tried to find the baskets that, when configured side-by-side took up as much foot print as possible on the shelves of each cabinet. Because each container is smaller, things don't slide around "as much" and definitely do not have as much to slide around if they were just free standing in the cabinets. It's a small investment with a big pay-off. It's nice being able to open a cabinet door the first time after being on the road and not have half your stuff fall out and crash all around you.

Those cabinets where the containers do not fit exactly, well, that extra space still holds items (just not contained), so we try to put items that, if they fall out, won't clobber us on the head too hard. Soft stuff, like towels, toilet paper rolls, paper towels, disposable cups or plates, stuff like that works very nice in those spaces. And because they are wedged in there, they don't move around either.

We quit transporting items in the medicine cabinet above the sink. We carry all our medicines, deodorant, and such like items in a separate bag. If we are camped at one spot several days in a row, we'll take everything out of the bag. But before hitting the road again, all the medicine cabinet stuff goes back in the bag, mainly because that stuff has to come back into the house once home.
