Stuff sliding around on shelves

You might try using some museum wax or even a couple well placed thumb tacks to hold the liner in place - if it doesn't slide, then your other stuff is unlikely to do so.

Also, I have found the best solution is to fully pack the shelves. It's better to have 3 full cupboards and 3 empty, than it is to have 6 half-filled cupboards.
