Sanitize a black tank...someone has way too much time on their hands. If you have a tank flush system, flush it and be done with it. Get one of the clear 45 degree elbows so that you can see it the tank is flowing clearer...not perfectly clear.
If I have to dump at a dump station, I will just dump the black first and then the gray tank to clean out the hose. There is nothing more aggravating than sitting in line at the dump station waiting on some clean freak to flush his tanks until they are surgical clean. Wait until you are somewhere that has a sewer hook up or when no one is waiting to use the dump.
I like to keep a couple of gallons of water in the black tank after a dump, put in the chemicals and roll on down the road.
We had one used trailer that I have no idea what the previous owner did, but we flushed buckets of a hard crud out of the tank and it ruined the seals on the dump valve. It looked like he let it dry out with cement in the bottom.
But the main thing is do not waste your time sanitizing the black tank. use lots of water with a flush and only dump when you have more than 1/2 tank.
