Stupid question time /sanitizing black water tank

Newbie here. Just bought a toy hauler and want to clean the black tank out. Only used it once so far and just dumped at the dump site. I don't have a clear hose or anything yet. there aren't any odors...

I add a capful of Calgon water softener and a long squirt of Dawn in addition to an envelope of Pure Power Blue. The sensors still don't read correctly but I solve that problem by waiting 5 - 7 camping days then dumping.
