Suggest a sewer hose kit.

We are going to be camping for 9 days at a site with full hookups for the first time in about 3 weeks. Previously we had always done shorter trips and we just used the tanks, and then I used the hose that came with the used camper we bought at a dump station.

The hose that came with the camper is good enough for just dumping at the station, but I know it isn't in good enough shape to leave setup full time at hookups.

I don't want to spend a ton of money as we will probably be replacing this camper in a few years with a new one, so I just want something good enough to get by until then, but not something so cheap I'm going to have problems.

Should I get the stand that keeps the hose elevated?

Just looking for suggestions.

Thanks!
  • Another vote for the Rhino hose

They have it available at Wal-Mart for $42.97 2 10 foot hoses 90 degree elbow for attaching to sewer fitting and storage caps.

I have the Rhino and very happy with it.

  • The Rhino Sewer Hose would be your best bet, long lasting.Even if you change campers you can take it with you.

As for the support that is up to you,the Camco Hose support is also well made and long lasting. If were me I would get both they will get you thru a few campers.

I have been in a few campgrounds that say you must use the support, something about their local ordnance stating no sewer hoses on the ground. :h
  • Agree on the RhinoFlex. We've had the 20ft kit (2 hoses plus the 90 for the ground end) for years. The hose caps are a nice extra.

It's a hose that black water is going through, not a place I cheap out. Plus the kit is all of $30 at Walmart.
  • As JAC1982 said above, use the tank and then dump after a few days. If you leave the dump valve open all the liquids will trickle out and the solids will be left behind. This WILL create a not so pleasant situation at a later time.
Google Camco RhinoFLEX 20ft RV Sewer Hose Kit. This is 20" of hose in two 10 foot sections and an elbow to get you into the sewer pipe in the ground. You should be able to get it for $30.
  • Rhino is a very good sewer hose and less than $25 right now on Amazon. And you can take it with you to a new RV when you get one.
  • Even when we have full hookups, we just use the tanks and then dump as needed. That doesn't quite answer your question, but may help you from spending money on a bunch of equipment you're not going to use much.
