You certainly make some good points. I would like to add that buying used (especially for the first tt/rv) allows you to learn what you like, or don't like. We started with a 1989 Kit Companion, used it for 4 years. Figured out exactly what we wanted, then bought a new trailer. The Kit is still being used by some relatives.
The big downside of buying used is if there is unknown water issues. Sometimes even the original owner does not know about it. When you buy used, you MUST examine the trailer (or have a qualified inspector do it) very carefully. If there is any sign of water damage, even minor, it is likely much worse than it looks.
