I think your trailer would be a good candidate for an Andersen Hitch. . They are very light weight, easy to install, and should work very well with the small trailer you are considering. They incorporate weight distribution and sway control into hitch and are a "new" design that is somewhat unusual. There are no WD spring bars or heavy chains lift them up. It also comes with the shank and ball so there is nothing else you would need to buy. Cost would be right around $500.
