If you come back and read this, I sure hope you start looking at different types of RV's before you jump in with both feet.
Every type of RV has their plusses and minuses to them. But for on the cheap purchase, you cannot go wrong with a TT and decent pickup. Heck, even a well equipped 1500 series truck is capable of towing a TT in the range of 19-23 feet long. In that size range and with some careful shopping you should be able to find a TT with a real albeit short bed, decent closet size and a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. That will give a single person enough room to live reasonably comfortable for extended trips. Class B's are generally pretty small and compact with not a lot of any room. Class C's can have more room, but in your price range you will be looking at a mid 80's vintage motor home. Something that is going to require a lot of work to keep running. Not to mention the possibilities of previous water leak issues to deal with.
Contrary to what some may believe, the RV life is not cheap. It is however a life style we have chosen to embrace and enjoy.
I totally agree with everything in this post. I also think you should have 4WD as a requirement. After 1 trip West and missing some really neat looking roads, I told the DW our next truck will be 4WD. After the standard eye roll, I went to the Ram dealer. Hence my 2500 4WD.
