Just to clarify your statement, Parking lots, WalMart, Cracker Barrel,& others, are for catching a few hours sleep, "overnighting", NOT for Camping,(although I've seen a few that don't realize this) if you set up in a parking lot to "Camp", lawn chairs out, grill set up, awning deployed , generator running, etc., you may find yourself asked to leave immediately.
Also, while WalMart it's self has no rule against overnighting, (according to a call I made to their headquarters), Many cities and counties have implemented ordinances forbidding it, and due to the actions of some inconsiderate RV'ers, there seem to be more & more all the time.
If you DO need to just overnight in a parking lot, be sure to check with the store manager before doing so
