My son started his camping life at 8 months-in a tent. Talk to your pediatrician about the best thing to use for bug protection. You can use netting over a stroller or backpack when you take her outside. IMHO you are keeping her inside more than she needs to be. Put a pad/blanket on the ground and sit with her. Bring her exersaucer and toys outside. Go for walks. It is much easier when they are not mobile then when they are. There is so much more trouble they can get into when they can walk. When she gets older, bring a portable playpen. Not only will this keep her contained but can also double as a crib.
