But, if it's fuel starvation, why is there no electrical anywhere? Even if the engine is off, with the key turned over, the fan, lights, radio, everything should still be running or on. All power is dead to everything ... more than just the engine shutting down.
If the battery cable was loose, there would still be electric power as the vehicle alternator will still put out a charge to the rest of the vehicle. Although it's not a good thing to do, it is possible to run a vehicle with no battery once it get's started. (Newer vehicles, not so much, as computers will shut the vehicle down). But older vehicles still would operate if the battery disconnected. With all electrical shutting down, its not fuel or battery only. Could be a combination of stuff hitting all at once. But for everything to quit, the problem has to be near the source of the electrical output for the entire vehicle .... engine and all accessories.
