Most construction / auto mechanic tools will do for any RV. Think multi-use however when putting a kit together to help save space. An adjustable wrench can be used on any size nut. A ratchet screwdriver set with interchangeable ends from phillips to flat to box to 6 point of various sizes saves a lot of "individual" tools that take up a lot of space. Socket wrench set with English and Metric all in one kit is a great help, and something to cut with ... something that will cut metal, paper, wire, string, rubber ... like meat scissors, or tin snips. A universal tape that will work on anything ... Duct Tape. Use a hatchet for a hammer to eliminate a hammer. You might want to bring along a drill and bits, and you can use a cordless drill with the right socket to raise and lower your stabilizer jacks. And a multi-purpose plier.
I think these are the most basic things you'll need. Anything RV specific should have come with your RV.
I use to carry a LOT of tools with me, until one day I realized I never use them, and any real repairs are done at home. Now, sometimes I plan on doing some preventative maintenance while camping. I'm camping right at and on this trip I brought along a can a rubber seal treatment and lithium grease for the slide-out tracks. So it really depends upon your handi-man skill level, how creative you are with what you've got to work with, and if you plan on doing repairs when camping or not.
Bungie cords, rope, coat hangers, lightweight wire, extra fuses, all go a long way. Always think multipurpose with your tools. And remember, chances are a fellow camper will have what you may be missing in a real pinch.
