Reviewing this thread is funny. You need a 3/4 ton. No, wait for the 2015 Ecoboost 2.7L.
There are half tons that can comfortably tow your desired Cougar. You just need to compromise on something. Some of the luxury things in different truck, a 3/4 ton that does not fit in the garage, a lighter RV, etc.
A 2014 max trailer package crew cab 5.5' Lariat will be over 1600 pounds of payload. But they will be hard for a dealer to locate throughout the country and you can only order 2015s. Not all 2015 2.7L Ecoboosts will have 2200 pounds of payload. Its like the 2014 F150 with 4000 pounds of payload. No one has ever seen one! We don't know enough about the 2015 right now to judge. Weight is down, but so are GVWR packages.
