  • its going in the toy hauler the GVWR is 8600# per the door sticker
  • First of all, welcome to the Forum. Lots of good info in here.

To see what you can tow you need to figure out your allowable tow weight and your available payload.

First, find your Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) from your Owner Manual. (Should be around 14,000# assuming a 3.73 axle)
Figure out or weigh the truck loaded for travel. (People, pets, full tank and everything else going in the truck)
SUBTRACT that truck weight from the GCWR.
That number is the max you can TOW.
If your loaded hauler is less than that, then so far so good.

Second, SUBTRACT the loaded truck weight from the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) off your door label. (Should be 8600#)
That number is your remaining PAYLOAD, or the max you can add to the weight of the truck.

You now need the tongue weight of that Hauler WHEN LOADED. Ignore empty weights, they are meaningless.
If the loaded hauler tongue weight (plus 100# for WD hitch, sway bars etc) is LESS than:-
    1) your remaining payload
    2) your hitch rating

Then you are good to go.
I suspect you will be close on this second number.

Where is the Polaris going? Truck or trailer? That will make a huge difference.
