Sorry but that is very poor reasoning. When you drive for 2-3 hours or more without stopping you have no idea what your tires are doing unless you have some kind of monitor. A nail in a tire can lead to a very low tire long before your next stop. Tires don't deflate for your convenience only when you are stopped.
