And you are not interested in maintenance? The words "used" and "not in the short term" together or apart equal "maintenance." The roof, the tires, the water systems, the undercarriage, the 12 and 120 volt system, AC, heater, fridge etc. RVing may not make you happy and keep you out of a tight spot.
dear lord dude chill out, you have added nothing here, move on quietly.
You don't understand I weight all of my options, used or new, if you don't have anything positive to add then...
I know maintenance better than most people, period, that is my job. Why would i want to buy a rv known to require more maintenance than another? sheesh, really starting to regret joining this dam forum.
I think you missed his point. A used unit= more maintenance vs.new right out the gate.
If you want less maintenance start with a fresh unit.
You have seen prices. Used units are not bargain priced. They are also not all in cherry condition.
THere is also not a Toyota in the RV world. They will all shake themselves apart and require constant maintenance.
THey are assembled by workers who are paid by the piece. THe people putting together have incentive to hurry up and push them out the door. Careful and attention to detail is not in their vocabulary.
Yes some units are put together better than others, but at the end of the day quality control is an issue throughout the entire industry.
Don't over analyze this, find a model and brand you like. Buy from a dealer you trust. Price alone should not be the determining factor.
A dealer can make or break your RV experience.
From there it's all about making memories. It will be a financial loss
if you are a bean counter. RV'ing is not an investment. There are lots of better ways to spend your money if you want to be rational about it.
RV'ing is a lifestyle,a hobby, a way to explore and relax.
Most of all it is an adventure. A wise RV'er told me you learn something new each trip and you will. How to get there, when to get there, how to set up , what to set up, what to bring, what not to ad where to go bring all becomes part of the adventure.
THe first lesson you really need is how to relate to a forum. None of this is personal. You will get comment from lots of wise experienced campers. You will need a little tougher more rubbery skin to survive.
If you disagree with a comment let it bounce off of you. You don't need to take the Trump approach and bite back. It's not a good look.
Some comments will be blunt some will simply be not what you want to hear. But in general they all can be useful and help you to see a different perspective.
On with your search.
