We had a small cat that at the beginning she would try to hide behind the brake pedal, until we placed a harness on her and then we had a long leash with the litter box in front of the refrigerator, with the leash she could not hide any where and we could control her, she also learnt to ride on the dashboard in front of the passenger side and also learnt the word NO and the meaning of it, her food was under the dinette with a bowl of water was taller than normal so water would not spill out but she could still get to the water.
