There are tires that last but I don't think you'll like them for winters in Colorado. Lose the P tires and switch to LTs should see a gain. I would expect good wear out of Nitto Dura Grappers in 275/65/18s.
x2 on the P's. Michelin LTX MS/2's come with a 70,000 mile warranty.
I was looking at these too. Have you installed these?
I just put a set of the LTX MS/2's on my Tundra (P265/70/R16). So far I'm pleased with them (1 month; 1700 miles total; 400 miles towing). My last set of tires were Firestone Destination AT's. Those had a 50k treadwear warranty and I got 60K out of them. The key is to keep any tire properly inflated, aligned, and
ROTATE EVERY 5K and you should exceed the warranty!
I considered the Toyo Open Country tires and the Firestone's again, but got the LTX's at Costco for $200 less than either of those.
There's few LT tires that have a treadwear warranty. I think Goodyear has one available at Sam's Club. My father recommeded them to me but I'm not a SC member and they were way more $$$ elsewhere.
When buying tires consider where you get them. Is the shop convenient enough for you to take it in for regular rotations and balance/pressure checks? My experinece is that if it's out of the way I'm much less likely to keep up with the regular maintenance.
