If I set my refrigerator on auto while plugged in it will run on electric. If I unplug it will automatically switch to gas. BUT, if I then plug the trailer in again the refrigerator will sometimes fault and blink the light. I then have to turn the refrigerator switch off and then back to auto and it starts working on electric again. Remember though that if the light is blinking then the refrigerator is not cooling.
If you run out of propane the light will start blinking unless you are plugged in. And even then if yours is like mine you might have to cycle it off and on again. Actually I don't think the refrigerator will auto correct from a blinking light. I think you have to flip the switch off and back to auto to reset it.
