Run the math on owning 5 acres of land, and renting out little pieces of it.
Don't forget about taxes, the cost of gravel or pavement, maintenance of that, mowing around it, and well, maybe I'd like to at least plug in my camper for the night and insurance and a system to make sure that you don't arrive late and leave early without paying- and can I run by the water spigot and fill up or use the dump station or use the bath house...
I too wish that everything was cheaper- but your comment is made often and it's usually followed by a campground owner stating that he's not getting particularly rich off of running his RV park.
As someone said- hopfully Wally Docking will continue to be "generally available" without too much in the way of losing the very nice service Wal Mart offers.
