So do you leave. The waterheaater on all the time when boondocking or just turn it on before shower?

That's a good point; however, personally I might take more control of my home water heater if there was a convenient on/off switch located right at the door like in my camper. I make an effort to adjust the home furnace/air con if I know the house will be unoccupied for the day. The thermostat is located for convenient access. But the home water heater controls are downstairs in the utility room.
