Hose supports never hurt and have had to use mine occasionally. For the weight and the room required I wouldn't be without one.
I also have a hose adapter that allows a garden hose to be connected that back washes up the black tank outlet and also down the sewer hose so you can get lots of fresh flushing water down it before you ever disconnect it.
