- CarlKatExplorerI'm so glad you started this topic, Alexum. We are about to embark on our first trip, also, and I have so many questions! One was about how to find campgrounds. I was supposed to get the Good Sam RV book, 2017, for $6.95 with my membership, but I can't find it anywhere. The online information for our state's parks is incomplete --- doesn't tell whether we can have our dogs, so I have to call each park to find out.
I'll be interested to hear about your travels.

Good Sam RV travel & saving guide - ssthrdExplorerI use Google Earth Pro as an option. Just zoom in to an area you are interested in and in the search box type in 'campbrounds'. A list will pop up and the map will show the location of the various sites, and in many cases, a link to their websites are shown.

It'll be my first trip and I want to try all types of rv spots.
My first year I did the "all types" thing too.
It didn't turn out good.....for me anyway.
I have "migrated" to KOA.
The price tends to be a tiny bit higher but the facilities are always top notch.....well, almost always. I've had FAR fewer disappointments with them than with independents or Good Sam even.
P.S. It would be REALLY nice if you could continue this thread as your trip progresses. Writing a book is not necessary but a brief log entry of your campground experiences would be interesting, I think. - IAMICHABODExplorer IIRV PARKY APP Gives you a multitude of options while traveling.
- SidecarFlipExplorer IIIMy GPS has campgrounds in it. I use that.

- Dutch_12078Explorer IIWe use RVParkReviews.com on our laptops and their app on our phones as our primary "go to" park finders. We also have the RVParky, KOA, Good Sam, and Passport America apps on our phones that we use depending on what specifics we're looking for.
