I wouldn't do anything differently next time (or the previous two times). I kept my first trailer for 9 years, the last one for 8 years, and plan to keep this one for somewhere around that same time. If you make a good choice and keep the trailer that long, the tow vehicle can be chosen for that trailer, rather than for some hypothetical future trailer.
Do your homework, take your time, and understand your true needs and desires (perhaps renting, tenting, staying in Yurts, etc...), then decide. Don't get pulled in by a pretty trailer for a low price that may not fit your lifestyle.
