What's the significance of the colors of nuts

In the picture there's a 'silver' colored nut and the 'bronze' colored nut? Is there any meaning to the color? Does it mean that one nut is stronger than the other? Is there any kind of color coding of the nut.

It could mean nothing but newbie like me wanna ask, especially this involves WD hitch towing 7,000 lbs of trailer.

X2 we are waiting patiently for the rest of the story
  • The plating determines the color. Look at the nuts at McMaster-Carr.

  • The colored nut has more alloy in it. It is formulated like that to prevent rust.
