when boondocking do you bring a weapon ?
we will have our dog,,,who doesn't miss a trick and will cause a problem IF she needs to protect,,,but I was thinking of carrying a shotgun too,,,any problems doing that ?? I have a NY pistol license ...

I don't carry a gun or wasp spray or pepper spray. I do have the dogs (2). Otherwise, I stay aware of my surroundings, use common sense, and inject realism into my life (how likely is it that some crazy person is going to be in the same little section of the great big forest where I set up camp - it's more likely I will be attacked in my own neighborhood, and I don't sleep with those things at home either.
