You haven't given them the down payment (just the $500 to hold it which I'd never do, that's just hooking you into the deal, like it's a one of a kind and there are 3 people behind you in line for it. Just dealer bs), and they haven't relinquished the cert of origin or title and given you a receipt. You haven't bought it.
On the loan, did you just sign the app or were you approved and actually signed the loan docs? If you didn't sign the loan docs then you don't have the loan, walk.
If you do have the loan and don't sign for the RV then the $ hasn't been disbursed from the lender to the dealer yet.
Like you I don't fault the dealer for making a buck but know that they will make as much money as they can. They, all of them, will sucker you into bad deals, overcharge for fake services, you name it, they'll do it. With that in mind, the only way to get a fair deal is start out by trying to screw them. Lowball offers etc. that way once you both agree, it will be hopefully a decent deal for both parties.
