No, Effy, it isn't different just as stealing from Walmart isn't different than stealing from a poor blind person. Its stealing. If your word is not your bond...and I guess it isn't. Now I know.
WTH are you talking about? Are you now comparing a handshake to stealing at WalMart and blind people? Let me break it down for you as you seem to have trouble with reality. A legal deal is where these things called documents are involved. Money is exchanged and things are documented, usually on paper and data. Laws are involved. I don't recall asking my neighbor to draw up documents for painting his fence. I have been working for banks my entire life and oddly enough we never seem to ask for a handshake as a criteria for any transactions. Perhaps we should have consulted you as you haven't seemed to horn your way into the financial sector yet. You are hung up on intent and are going to great lengths judging folks when I or the OP didn't mention intent at all. The OP asked a question about legality. Not about intent. Yet you seem to want to chime in and steer the topic to the "handshake" and bless us with your holier than thou honor code. No one asked. You are pretty free with judgmental and condescending comments on a lot of your posts. I liked the ones where you chastise the home schooling folks who are trying to do their own thing. Get over yourself. My moral constitution is just fine - especially given that I don't judge people and go around forcing my ethical opinions on them. And I follow through with intent and I would challenge you to prove otherwise. In other words, you don't know what your are talking about with respect to me. And I wouldn't worry about dealing with me either. I usually avoid the pretentious condescending folks. In the future, stick to the topic and perhaps you won't have so much trouble. or maybe it's trouble you are looking for. Sure seems like it. I put my signature where my mouth is and that is my intent. You tell me the next time you try to use your handshake in lieu of a signature and see how the bank feels about it. Let me know how that hand shakin' is working getting legal deals done. Done feeding the troll.
