  • I will never buy off brand towing equipment. Hitches, balls, trunion bars etc. for my use have to be made by companies whose main business is towing. I will not trust our lives, and others, to less than top of the line gear. Especially one with a 2.5 star rating. BTW, the chrome will wear off pretty soon and keeping a light film of grease on the ball will prevent rust.

  • How many trailer balls have you had or know of anyone else that have had problems with quality control on them?

IMO there’s no sense in paying double but it’s your $.
  • Get it right away. Lippert announced late in November they were buying Curt. LCI would already have a team involved before the ink is dry on the deal to figure out how to cheapen everything, and how much they can raise prices.
  • If you're put out by the rust on the one you currently have, no other reason to replace it, then get the one that looks chrome.
  • One is shiny and the other isn't. Both will do the same thing.. Other than that. You just pay for a name. If a name is important to you. It's your money for it.
  • I've used a number of Curt hitch products over the years and never had a problem with them. I don't know anything about Ultra-Fab.
  • Looked at them and others on Amazon. This particular Curt ball has 6 good ratings, other curt’s have hundreds of good ratings. I’d pay the extra for Curt.
