Not necessarily true. A lot of trees around the country have lead in them. More trees are shot during hunting season than game. :B2gypsies wrote:

I worked in a paper mill for years, and found a half a bucket of slugs in the bottom of the pulp tanks everytime we cleaned them. :E - 4X4DodgerExplorer IIDue to a very strict California Law mandating warning labels for any product that contains, or was processed with anything that might contain lead many manufacturers are applying a warning label so the product can be sold in California.
One poster had it right. If the screws had even a small amount of lead in them or were machined with tools that did the manufacturer probably put a warning label on just for the California Sale issue. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIGee, the covers that came with my RV do not say that, Corian, they are.,

Maybe it's because they're hecho en China where they use lead liberally in products? Maybe they mean it's because of lead in food which will transfer onto the cutting board, thus into you? Maybe it's lead in dishwashing soap that will contaminate the board? :R
I think what it is, is that unless they can certify it 100 percent lead-free beyond a shadow of a doubt, the easy way out is to put warning stickers like that on products to protect themselves, not you. Maybe going through the process of certifying a product lead-free is expensive? If there is a risk, it's lack of proper cleaning after prepping meats like chicken.
We have a corian counter top with corian sink covers. Not only do they weigh a ton, corian scratches easily and shouldn't be used as a cutting surface. Totally useless but sure looks great at an RV show...
We have a Camco Decor Mate Stove Topper cutting board made from the same HDPE (I assume) material that hasn't killed anyone yet. Don't recall seeing a warning label, but who reads labels anway?
