Will renting a MH help me get a feel for RVing with trailer?

I think your plan to rent a MH is perfectly fine. You will learn a lot of things that carry over from the MH to the TT & Truck down the road. The only problem you will have while renting, if you are staying at one place for 2 - 3 weeks - how do you get to the exploring places, hiking trails, grocery store, etc. You may need to rent a car during the stay.
