? TV Rodent Repellant LEDs?

Anyone successfully use under-hood lights to keep mice & rats away from wiring & other engine compartment plastics? WWW search didn't bring up anything close to what I think I'm looking for.
Any recommendations?
  • Kinda like the porch lights. The deer like to feed there where they can see. Even come up on the porch to look in the window.
But then, that's enough. If peopel say it works well, it does, I guess.

    Testimonials?

Don't know about mice, pack rats don't like lights. If you have one they will chew the wires off a new pickup in just hours. Saw a camp host w/ a shop light under his ford hd pu. Pack rats had visited his site. They will build a nest out of anything they can carry, they really like wire insulation. Knowing how my wife reacts to mice, I sure didn't need that. Off to hobby lobby and bought enough string light to circle the mh.
Don't know if it works yet but makes wife feel better.

In a private rv park had a session with trapping a pack rat in the RV, just thought of that when reading your post ... and in the rv park had not put out the rope lights we use when volunteering in state parks, etc. Just did a "well wonder if" to ourselves when reading your post. From now on the rope lights will go down period wherever we are .. Shalom. Peace.

As to mice, we use Rodent Repellent Spray plus a battery powered mouse trap and regular mouse traps ... only have caught about 1 or 2 a year, but grateful got rid of the nuisance smells, etc.
  • Had a problem with some kind of creature living in my basement and tried all kinds of baits to no avail. Bought one of those mouse zappers for $39.95 at HD and got several mice, but not the big guy. He disappeared,so mebbee the bait finally brought it down. Then the cocker spaniel started going crazy in the MH and we couldn't figger where the problem was. Tried several different things and finally put the zapper by the foot pedals as it seemed to be getting in thru the front ducts. Finally got him and he was so big,I had to shake him out of the zapper as he was stuck. I'm now in the process of trying to find where it was living in the MH and that's not a fun job.
Little sidw note, several folks on here said peppermint oil works at repelling them, so I picked a bunch of mint twigs and made bundles, crushed them and put them in several places in the MH. Went back several days later and they were mostly all gone, disappeared out of sight.
  • Had a mouse problem in the 5er. Bought a sonic 110VAC device from Amazon that "chirps". Low (I can't hear it) medium (I can hear it) and loud, bothers the dogs next door.
