1/2 ton towing

I have never heard such a bs story in my life. my daughter told me this story. a guy who works with her husband bought a 1/2 ton TT and was towing with a 1/2 ton truck, make and engine unknown, he towed it a very short distance spent the weekend and drove home. he claims he only got 1 mpg, that's right one miles per gallon towing. mind you he just bought the truck six months ago and the TT a month ago, he was so disappointed in the milage he went out and bought $60K ram diesel and is now getting 19 miles per gallon. now either he can't figure out gas mileage or he Bs'd his wife into letting him get a bigger truck. one mile per gallon, a great story I will have to look into this a little more
  • What we have here is the failure of the American education system.

and...by the way, since when should we listen to what the wife of a friends coworker's sister said anyway?
  • With such low intelligence, he should never have been allowed to have a drivers license.

I'm going with the BS and bigger truck theory. ;)
  • didn't happen. after I gas up and drive 100 ft or so mine reads 6-8. yeah buying a $60,000 truck makes lots of economic sense. :s
    bumpy
  • If you drove a very short distance, maybe up a lot of elevation, and he has a heavy foot, I could see how the truck's computer might have said 1 MPG. However, I still think it's BS.
  • 1mpg would definitely be very short trips, hope he likes his new diesel truck.
