Just thinking here. Maybe I'm nuts. If there is room above the slide out to do it. Could you install the top strip that the awning slides into with one end 1/2 inch higher than the other and then install the brackets for the roller/tube the same way? It would still be on an even plane when pulling out but it would be sloped slightly one direction so the water would run off. Wish mine had been installed that way. As it is it pools up there and then runs off on the end towards the door.
