Yes, everything turns. It isn't hard miles like driving because there is a lot less stress on the parts, but yes, there will be unregistered miles.
OP here. I say vintage because I own a 96 Jeep Cherokee AUTO 4WD and I know exactly how it tows 4 down.
Problem is I have a friend with a 2007 (there about) Liberty who is insisting his mechanic told him that the towing miles HAD no effect of wearing out his rear universal joint with 36,000 on the odometer.
