2010 Ford escape transmission

do not put the remco pump in your escape. I have burned out 2 pumps, one after only 52 miles. I just do not think you can tow a escape with out trouble.

You need to contact your State Attorney General and file a complaint for non-compliance of stated warranty. Then contact a local attorney.

They will not be installed at no charge! The most that we could get Ford to agree to after months of phone calls to the dealer and Ford Motors was up to $1000 toward the cost of a Remco Pump. The dealer said they will install the pump for $3500 but either way, the warranty is then void. I would strongly advise anyone to not buy a Ford of any kind. Their customer service has been terrible and their car is junk compared to a Toyota or a Honda. Do yourself a favor: DON'T BUY A FORD!

Oddly, the prior to mid month 2/12 Ford Escape doesn't need the Remco pump if you simply follow service bulletin TSB 11-7-15, as I described previously in this string.

I had the same problem with a 2011 Escape. If you search the various forums you'll see this has happened to hundreds of Escape owners. We have tried everything to get Ford to make it right. So far their best offer is $1000 cash to make us go away.

Got this from Ford: FYI 2/12 was the time frame they changed the transmissions they installed in the Ford Escapes built after that month. And those post 2/12 built Escapes ARE non-towable. My 2012 Escape was made in 1/12 and after I completed the recommended transmission fluid level decrease by the dealer, I have towed thousands of miles without an issue. Sorry about your pain, did you have the transmission fluid properly lowered on your vehicle, and do you follow the pre-tow tranny warmup for 5mins, and not exceed 65mph?

Wow, I guess you are going to show them. Doesn't ruining a transmission again kind of inconvenience you a bit? I would stop towing it and save a lot of aggravation to myself.

Yep, until 2/12 when with NO change to anything, it became NON-towable.....LOL, they are paying the price for not doing their homework....
