First trip out was this past weekend and it went great. We went to Stone Mountain in Georgia. Truck handled it w/o a sweat, camper pulled great. Got a little push from wind gusts on the way back, but nothing bad, averaged 9.5 mpg for the trip.
I also weighed it on the way home, but the weights aren't comparable to the weights earlier b/c so much was different. I also didn't have time to unhook and weigh the truck by itself or unhook the WDH bars and weigh b/c of trucks in line at the scales. So all I got was what it weighed as I was towing it down the road with the WDH bars hooked up, camper fully loaded including clothes and food.
Front 4480
Rear 4740
Trailer 8760
Total 17980
So going to 7 washers instead of 4 on the equalizer head did transfer more weight to the front, but I don't know the exact amount since I didn't get to weigh all the appropriate ways.
Differences this time versus last weigh-truck was full of fuel instead of 3/4 tank, camper was fully loaded instead of empty, added heavy sidesteps to truck (approx 90 pounds), added heavier hitch to rear of truck, added at least 100 pounds of tools in truck, added about 30 pounds in small air compressor in truck, added spray in bedliner, bike in truckbed, at least 200-300 pounds of firewood in truckbed. I'll get all the weights in a future camping trip. At least I know my weights fully loaded and that all of those are within the specs of the hitch/truck/camper.
