2013 Dodge Ram 2500 4x2

I've been trying to find out if my truck can be flat towed with Remco's Drive Shaft coupling kit. Unfortunately, my local dealer in Virginia is evidently closed for the holidays and so is Superior Driveline (Remco).

Not that I'm an impatient person, which maybe I am, but I would love to know for sure if my truck can be flat towed. I'd love to go ahead and purchase the Blue Ox stuff such as baseplate, wiring kit and towbar. And of course the brake assist.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  • And I would say that you had a clue what you're doing with driveshafts, etc.

I'll post what I figure out next week. Hopefully I'll find the kit.

    Thanks
  • IF they make a kit for your truck, after it is installed and working properly you can tow it.
However, unless you can find an application chart on the manufacturer's website you will have to ask them if they make such a kit.
I doubt in the average man-on-the-street would have that information.
    I sure don't!
OR, you can take the time to get under the truck, remove the driveshaft from the differential yoke, put tape around the bearing caps so the don't get lost, and tie the shaft up to the body with baling wire.
I used to do that with a Datsun diesel pickup. It took about five minutes to disconnect, and about 5 minutes to put it back. Of course, I was a LOT younger back then!
