2014 Ford Fiesta ST Not Towable

We're downsizing to a smaller house with a much smaller garage. Almost all sources, including the owner's manual, say that the car is towable. My first clue was Remco, which said it isn't. Further searching on the subject found confirmation from Ford on page 11 of this PDF file.

Fortunately, my wife's MKT is towable so I'm not stuck buying a dolly.
  • I didn't want a standard Fiesta. The ST (1.6L, 197 HP, 6 spd manual) is a little rocket ship and handles like a go cart. It's a hoot to drive and is getting 33 mpg to boot. The ST also has gobs of torque and will chirp its tires on a 1 - 2 shift without trying too hard.
  • The 2013 Ford Fiesta standard shift is four wheel down towable. Maybe find a deal on a used and skip paying all the money that disappears when you drive off the dealership lot in a brand new car! Good luck!
  • Yep - - sorry - - my bad! For some reason the Fiesta ST is NOT towable 4 wheels down!
  • I believe that you are confusing towing (the Fiesta towing something) and "Recreational Towing", the Fiesta being towed by a motorhome. The Fiesta is towable by a motorhome but it's not to be used for towing something else (e.g. boat or trailer).
