2017 Honda Ridgeline

I just saw the 2017 Ridgeline is coming out. It actually looks like a pickup for 2017. Has a lot of nice features and looks to be cheaper than the Chev Colorado. I've never considered it before because I never liked the looks of it, but it looks nice for 2017. But in some quick Google searches looks like the older Ridgelines have not been towable. The 2017 looks like it comes with a full time all wheel drive system that has selectable modes so I'm guessing it is not going to be towable either. Does anybody know for sure?
  • Looks like it can't be towed four down. Four wheel drive vehicles generally aren't supposed to be put on a dolly. My guess is this one can't since it is AWD. But there is a 2WD version. Not interested in that so I didn't even look at that.
  • The Pilot used to have, and probably still does, rear wheels that coasted except when the computers detected wheel slip in the front drive wheels. Then some drive thingy (that's the engineering term) would be engaged to the rears. I'm pretty sure the Ridgelines have used the same system.

So it's possible the Pilot/Ridgelines could be dolly towed, if the rear wheels coast normally with the power off. It would be interesting to see. The early Pilots could be flat towed BTW.
  • Reno Honda Service Mgr told me it is not towable 4 down, did not ask about on a dolly. Dick
  • The drive train is basically from the Honda Pilot but with many parts of the chassis are beefed. The Pilot cannot be towed 4 down.

Last I looked, there was not a single Honda listed that can be towed 4 down.

The ability to tow it four down is not listed in there. Already looked.

Sorry, I only posted the link for others to quickly see the 2017 Ridgeline.

It is a nice looking vehicle.

My guess would be it cannot be towed 4 down.
