2017 Kia Soul

This is 2nd Gen vehicle and just wondering which would be best way to tow car.
Umable to tow 4down. Wondering wich would be best dolly or trailer.
Tow unt E-450 class C.
  • A Kia Soul is front wheel drive. A dolly is lighter and less expensive and takes up less room in a campsite, but can't be backed up very well with a car loaded. A trailer can be backed up but is much heavier. It's also hard to move one around a campsite. I'm not a fan of tow dollies but in your shoes I'd probably use one.
  • Remco Towing suggests a dolly for the front wheel Soul with 6 speed auto.
If you go with dolly, I would suggest a trailer hitch on the Soul so you can move it around when necessary.
  • I'd especially like to hear from anyone towing a 2nd generation Kia Soul automatic- how you're doing it & how's it going. We'd like to trailer it, but not sure any tie down point is usable except passing strap through the tire/rim on all four wheels. Has anyone used the screw-in bumper bolts & how'd that work? Are bumpers bad looking afterwards? Thanks for any info!

Probably a good answer but not the one the OP was looking for!;)
  • I would say, if you think you might have need for a trailer for other things, get one.
If you know you will never need a trailer, get a dolly.
When I had a trailer, I used it for hauling hay, long lumber, rocks, etc. We don't have horses now, and I'm not much for big projects at my age, so no trailer any more.
For a dolly, I would recommend the American Tow Dolly or the Demco Kar Kaddy. The Demco is the best, IMO, but it costs more than three times what the American does, new.
  • has anybody suggested that if he gets a dolly, that it has brakes, etc.
