- DuctapeExplorerI'm a fan of Blue Ox, however before deciding I would review the installation instructions for all options and choose the one with the least cutting or vehicle alterations. I have an RVi brake that works well.

6 speed manual is available on base and premium models. So it should be towable four wheels down. - mowermechExplorer

"should be" doen't make the grade. What does the Owners Manual say about "Recreational Towing"? - mowermechExplorer

I don't know about 2018, but earlier manuals are fine, but NOT the CVT trany

Last I checked 2 years ago with a dealer a Crosstrek manual transmission could no longer be towed flat. Also no Subaru is in the 2017 Dingy towing guide as being flat towable. I could not find a 2018 towing guide online that is why I asked the question.mowermech wrote:

My 2009 Forester has no warranty at this point, has towed great for 15k miles or so. We use ReadyBrute Elite towbar with built in surge brake, Blue Ox baseplate on Suby, with ReadyStop emergency brake-away system.
- Boxer_LoversExplorerSubaru has gone to electric power steering in all models. None after 2015 (?)are flat table
