Fridge only uses propane as needed.
This fridge does. It does have an adjustment to raise or lower the flame to regulate the temp, but the flame never goes out. In warmer weather I've always had to run the flame on the highest setting for it to keep temp.

Your Frig does need the battery. All the controls on it require Battery.
I can assure you that this fridge does not need electricity to run on LP. I've done it before. It has no electronic controls.

I thought about taking another cylinder along but I don't want the extra weight. I just found and purchased an adapter so that I can hook up a disposable 1 lb. tank to the regular connection so that I can have a backup source of propane while I go and get the cylinder refilled. It's available at Camping World and a few other sources. They called it a steak saver, as it can be used to keep cooking on your grill if your tank runs out. I often wondered why they didn't make these, and now they do. I should have taken out a patent...
I thought about taking another tank also, but I'm pulling with a Jeep Liberty, I don't want the tank in the tow vehicle. I suppose I could secure the second tank in the camper but I'm also trying to keep the weight down as much as possible, the Jeep pulls well but we will be climbing in elevation and trying to save on gas. That adapter you mentioned sounds great, I'm going to look into that!

Hi,
Add an extend-a-stay and carry a spare tank.
