I don't have room to carry a 20 lb tank, so I have a pair of these 1 gallon propane tanks.



I use one till it runs out, then swap it for the other. It lasts several seasons, so I have plenty of time to get the empty refilled. You may want to consider getting one of them as the backup to your 20 lb tank.
