Be aware that most RV gensets do not output 240 volt power, and you have to go big or commercial to get that.

My new MS on order will have a CUMMINS/ONAN 6500 propane gen installed. I was told that would run most of the rig.

Two suggestions: 1: check the labels to find out the current draw, divide products into 3 groups

Small (LCD TV's Computers less than 200 watts)
Medium, Fridge, Washer arond 300-800 watts
Large A/C, Water heater, Microwave, Space heater,

NOTE the converter moves about depending on condition of batteries, mine can draw over 1,000 watts with dead batteries, or less than 100 with full batteries and lights off. And that is the SMALL converter (I have 2).

Rule on 30 amps is 2 big ticket or 1 big + 2 medium, though on some of them I've had to switch the Fridge to gas.

Small items mostly do not count.

Suggestion: obtain a good Surge Protector with LCD display, either a PT-50C from Progressive Industries, or an HW-50C with remote. (This is the recommended one).. Have it installed (HW only, HW = HARD WIRED) and read the display, it shows amps consumed on each leg. (Also voltage) and if the voltage drops too low (Common in older parks) it will shut you off for a couple mintues till it returns to normal. Thus protecting motor driven stuff like your Air Conditioners. Provides several other protections as well.

  • We run our stackable dryer on 30 amps, just did it last week at Quartzsite.
  • We run out washer/dryer on 30 amps. Just can't run the microwave, washer/dryer, curling iron, blow dryer at the same time

120V washer and dryer will be fine on 30A, You may want to turn WH top gas while doing so.
  • The DW has used our dryer of our Splendide combo on 30 amps with no problem, with no other high draw appliances in use.

Splendide combo specs state it at 120 vac, 13 amps.

Probably. Washer doesn't take much juice.

If this website is right, a washing machine takes less than 5 amps.
