300 days at sea

Not really RV related but could you live in your RV for 300 days without touching land?

  • This isn't about building a resume. Its about a guy who wants to do something for himself and wants to share it with others.

Last year I met a couple of people on a bike trail in Milwaukee. Turns out they were getting close to a month long ride along Lake Michigan. Why? Because they simply wanted to do it.

  • I don't see where he's done any trans ocean crossings. That doesn't mean he can't do what he is setting out to do but a few crossings under his belt would be a good resume. At least he has "Wilson" along for company but what's up with the cabin cushions and pillows? That kind of stuff should be ditched in favor of more fuel, more water, more sails, or more batteries. Maybe the picture I saw was before he embarked and was a publicity shot of the boat. Hoping so.

Good luck to Chris, it's one heck of a voyage.

What's he doing for beer and ice? :)

    Excellent question.

And, didn't the early explorers cross the oceans without the latest tech gadgets? :)

It sounds like a great adventure, I wish I was doing something similar.
I hope he has no problems.
  • Heck, most RVers cannot last a day without needing something outside of the RV. That is why FHU sites are top demand or sites close to the bathroom if FHUs are not available.

Besides food a means to make freshwater & charge the battery bank are top prioritys.

One of the big advantages we have over all boaters is that we can get off & go for a walk. Boaters can't do that. It has been a couple thousand years since one did.
