A little wax on the decals won't hurt, but the 303 is made as a protectant for decals, plastic, etc., and works quite well on all exterior vents, covers, valves, TIRES, and "like" stuff.
I use it all over my boat, and on all of my tires. I use it on the dash of the MoHo, and all my boat seats.
My Jeep Seat covers came with a little bottle of 303, which should say something.........
But it ain't wax.
It'll make anything look good, until it rains, and then it's gone.
That said, I use it to make my boat look good, my old Jeep look good, and my Moho decals look good.
I also believe that it may extend the life of tires, but can't prove it. My six year old Miche's look new!
